Hare Krishna. Adventurous youths can stay back a couple of days after the July 3 Brinchang, Cameron Highlands Ratha Yatra and try a 4.7 KM mountain climb (Brinchang mountain down to Irau Mountain and back). Posted are some photos of a climb which Sevananda prabhu, Chandru, their sons and me did on 8 July 2009. We guarantee satisfaction for those taking the challenge. Best for groups to be in 8-12 numbers. One regular climber whom we met on our way back told us that for each climb he adds 5 years to his life. But I think those who have weak heart or sensitive to change of air pressure will need to take expert medical advice before taking the adventure. What is the Krishna conscious perspective one may ask? I would say appreciation of Lord Krishna's nature while chanting your way up and down the mountains.

HH Bhakti Vigna Vinash Narasimha Maharaj addressing the Youth Council (Vaisnava Malaya Candan Team) Harmony, cooperation and unity. In a meeting, unusual eh? Are you kidding me? This is absolutely absurd! Yes, the youths had set for a revolution! On 6 June 2010, after having relished nutritious breakfast prasadam meal prepared at Bhaktivedanta Cultural Centre, Perai, Penang, the IMYC team had organized the Cameron Highlands Ratha Yatra meeting. Instead of passing the ball around, the members were cooperating and volunteering for the task arranged for the Ratha Yatra. HH Bhakti Vighna Vinasa Narasimha Swami Maharaj gave so much encouragement, mentioning that the youths are the future of Krishna Conscious movement and we should put all our brains, energy for the service of Lord Krishna. Since this is a Mega event organized by all youths, the IMYC team is humbly inviting all youths from ISKCON Malaysia to please come, participate and organize this Ratha Yatra. This is one good opportunity for you to exhibit your creativity and talents. Some of you may like decorations, some of you may love to cook, some may like to dance and do dramas and some may like to sing... When you have some talent within you, don’t just reserve it, the best is to use it and offer your services for the pleasure of Sri Guru and Krishna. IMYC intentions are to unite youths of ISKCON Malaysia and to Live with Srila Prabhupada…So don’t wait…please come forward to join us!

His Holiness Bhanu Swami (pix above), a member of the ISKCON Governing Body Commission, preaches extensively especially in South India. He gives seminars on various topics like Nectar of devotion, Nectar of Instructions, Sri Isopanishad, etc. He is known for his deep understanding of Vedic literature. He is very merciful and takes personal care of spiritual lives of devotees.

The Youth section of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, Malaysia is organizing for the first time a Lord Jagannatha Chariot festival in the town of Brinchang, Cameron Highlands, Pahang on 3 July 2010. The festival is meant to create spiritual awareness amongst the locals and in particular to attract Youths.
I am also taking this opportunity to extend my invitation to you and your family to come and join this nice and wonderful festival at Brinchang, one of Malaysia's most famous holiday resort town.

This is the 4th year since the inception of the Battle of Kuruskhetra [BOK] in 2007. BOK is anchored on 3 main objectives:- a) to encourage devotees to study the Bhagavad Gita As It Is, b) to enable devotees to present the Bhagavad Gita As It Is systematically to the common public c) to introduce the study of Bhagavad Gita As It Is to friends and family who are not familiar with it yet.  This year the theme for BOK will be “Celebrating the Song of God”. Some of the highlights for BOK 2010 will be the activities revolving around the theme, special VIP guests, introduction of a new category and much more. The new category, Bhagavad Gita Thematic Presentation is created specially to enable devotees to present the Bhagavad Gita As It Is systematically to the common public. This category is open to only those aged 18 and above. Participants are required to work in groups of not more than 3 members to come up with creative power point presentations to explain the chosen theme. 22 May 2010 - On the 39th anniversary of of Srila Prabhupada's visit to Malaysia, the ISKCON Penang Botanical Gardens centre installed Srila Prabhupada in his murti form. Srila Prabhupada's murti was also taken on a bullock ride to the Botanical Gardens with accompaniment of the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. During his visit to Malaysia in 1971 Srila Prabhupada appreciated the Penang Boanical Gardens very much.

"Many people met Çréla Prabhupäda at the old airport. The path where he was to walk was covered with profuse flowers. The airport authorities were wonderstruck. A flower path from arrival terminal right up to the car. All varieties of flowers. The whole terminal was full with well-wishers. Disciples doing kértana. Jumping with dholak. The people were also chanting. It was a blissful atmosphere, the kértana was loud. Many fell to the ground when Çréla Prabhupäda entered. Many, many garlands. The flight came in the early afternoon." (Mr. Arun Bhatt recalls his memories of Prabhupäda's arrival in Penang.)
