Battle of Kurukshetra 2009 |
Written by TASK
The Battle Continues… The Battle of Kurukshetra (BOK) was concluded on the sunny afternoon of Nov 8 2009. BOK 2009 was also in conjunction of 30 years of ISKCON in Malaysia. BOK is a festival that encourages young and old alike to study the Bhagavad Gita As It Is. It is our hope that during this season of BOK the reading time of Bhagavad Gita will increase amongst devotees. BOK is not a merely a competition because there are no losers in this endeavour. It is a festival that celebrates all, participants and audiences alike because whoever, hears or recites a sloka from Bhagavad Gita can never be a loser but certainly a champion indeed.

Signature Campaign for the welfare of Indian Cows |
Written by Vishwa Mangala Gou Grama Yathra

Signature Campaign for the welfare of Indian Cows A proposal to The Honourable President of India will be submitted in January, 2010 Our nation is a country of villages. Lives of villagers are mainly based on agriculture. Agriculture largely depends on the cow and bull. The bull is given a place of pride in our culture and national heritage. The holy ‘Gou Matha’ is a source of both food and economy. She is the centre of ayurveda, environment, Indian economics, culture and agriculture. Neglect of villagers and cows has produced ill effects on earth, environment and health of living beings. Due to this, our culture, agriculture and economic conditions suffer. Due to the failure of crops, farmers are committing suicide. Our religions, culture as well as constitution do not support the killing of cows and other animals. In fact, the cow protection issues created the platform for the Indian freedom struggle. During that time, all freedom fighters assured that ‘after getting freedom, there will be no more cows slaughter in the nation’. But even today, cow slaughter is going on unabated. Therefore our request to The President is… 1. Declaration – cow as the National Animal. 2. Formulation of laws to preserve various breeds of Indian cows and to ban the cow slaughter. 3. Provision of separate ministry to handle the issues related to cow. 4. Promotion of Indigenous cow protection movements to save Jana, Jala, Janvar, Jungle, Jeeva. We all request you to give us a chance to protect the respect of the National symbole, that is ‘Gou Matha’. Be one of us.

| HH Janananda Maharaj always like to keep to schedule. HH is here at Bedong Vinayagar temple to inaugurate the annual Ratha Yatra but was surprised when he did not see Lord Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subadra Devi on the care. Devotees then informed Maharaj that the car transporting Their Lorships broked down and so the delay. |

Lotus feet of Lord Damodara irresistable for Taiping Gomata |
Written by Santi Vardhana Caitanya dasa
Amazing Damodara Pastimes in Taiping! This story was told to me by one Taiping devotee, the sister of Yaduraj Krishna Prabhu. Both she and her husband are initiated.
Recently, she, Vijaya mataji and Vishaka mataji went for Damodara house program at Jalan Azizul Rahman Taman in Kamunting, just at the back of Sandesh Krishna [Dr. Krishna] Prabhu's dental clinic. After visiting HG Kripa Sindhu Krishna Prabhu's sister's house and while walkin out the gate a Gomata [cow] on spotting them carrying Lord Damodara started to immediately chase them. Thinking that the Gomata was out to attack them, forgeting their old age they started to run as fast as they could. But they couldn't run anymore than three to four houses. They had no choice but to stop and just surrender to Sri Krishna. The Gomata continued to run towards them who were all shivering and wondering who would be the unlucky one to be gored by the Gomata. The gentle Gomata however had a different intention. Seeing that they had stopped running, she broke a branch of leaves from a nearby tree and approached the matajis. The Gomata then came close to the Damodara Deity they were carrying. She then bowed low paying her obeisances to Lord Domodara Deity, licked His lotus feet and quietly left. After the house visits they returned to the house where they first saw the Gomata and wanted to offer her some prasadam. She was now tied to a tree by the owner. She again offered her obeisances to Lord Domadara, licked His lotus feet and then accepted prasadam from the devotees.
your servant, santi
